Lilburn accepts two tracts from DDA, reducing DDA debt by $176,243

The City Council voted 3-0 on July 13 to accept deeds for Tracts One and Three of the property at 57 Railroad Avenue from the Downtown Development Authority, lowering the DDA's outstanding obligation to the City. Mayor Johnny Crist described the site and parcels, saying: "Tract One is the parking lot behind Antiques of Old Town; Tract Two is the main building; and Tract Three is a parcel behind the parking lot where the construction trailer currently sits."
City staff said accepting the two tracts reduces the amount due from the DDA by $176,243, changing the outstanding balance from $1,600,000 to $1,423,757. The council approved the conveyance by motion with Councilmember Michael Hart moving and Councilmember Christina van Maanen seconding; the vote was recorded 3-0 in favor.
