The Whitman County Board of Commissioners conducted hearings and approved resolutions to vacate and abandon portions of Mick Parvin Road and Rock Springs Road at the July 6 meeting. County Engineer Dean Cornelison advised the board that preserving the specified portions was not advisable and recommended abandonment to be passed to adjoining owners; the board carried resolutions for both roads.
Representatives from Inland Power — Nick McGill and John Martinsen — told the board a mobile (not permanent) substation would be placed in the vacated Rock Springs Road area for use during outages or maintenance and that improvements are needed at the permanent substation. Petitioners in favor of the Mick Parvin vacation were listed in the record (Mitchell Dymkoski; Erica Crespi; Clark Farms; Catherine Uliban; Martin Marler).
