Saint Francis begins operations at Bristow Hospital after Feb. 14 takeover

Saint Francis representatives told the Bristow Hospital Authority on Feb. 17 that the health system took over operations of Bristow Hospital with a move-in "on Saturday, February 14, 2026 around noon," and that the transition was "relatively smooth." Collin Henry, who spoke for Saint Francis, reported that the facility had 13 patients on Monday and 9 patients on the day of the meeting.
Henry said Saint Francis will operate the site as a 24-hour urgent care clinic "until they receive their number which will allow them to operate as an ER." He added he is "hoping this will happen very shortly." When asked how many employees were retained from the prior operator, Carrus Lakeside, LLC, Henry said Saint Francis has hired 45 Carrus employees and that "90% of the employees at the Hospital now were Carrus employees," while noting the system had not received a complete employee list from Carrus.
Authority members pressed on services and staffing. Councilmember Judd Johns asked about the physical therapy staff; Henry said Saint Francis is "cleaning carpets, painting and sprucing up the building and will open the PT Building soon." Asked about recruiting additional clinicians, Henry said Saint Francis will begin bringing more physicians and physician assistants after the facility is established in the community.
Henry introduced Ryan Powell as the on-site overseer for the startup period; Powell told the Authority he "lives in the community and will be at the Bristow Facility for at least 90 days" and invited trustees and residents to visit and speak with him. Trustees welcomed the new operator and had no further questions at the meeting.
The update contained no formal action; trustees did not vote on operational matters during the session but recorded their welcome and asked clarifying questions about staffing and services.
