Public commenter from Ecowace Solutions urges Plainville to issue RFP for garbage service

Stacy Montgomery, who identified herself as representing Ecowace Solutions, urged the council during public comments to periodically put the town’s garbage contract out to bid. "I think it is always the best practice for city council to issue an RFP," Montgomery said, adding that an RFP would "just test the market" and would not force the city to change vendors.
Montgomery said Ecowace already operates in multiple nearby communities and can offer curb and alley pickup as well as recycling and composting programs; she offered to provide references and follow-up information the next morning. Council members asked for more information on services and pricing and Montgomery said she would provide a packet the following day.
