Board certifies election results, schedules post-election audit for June 16

The Kingsbury County Board of County Commissioners completed the canvass of the recent General Election and signed the state's certificate after verifying poll books, recap totals, poll-pad voter counts and tabulator totals for each precinct. County Auditor Echo Steffensen presented the results and the Board found the numbers accurate before approving the canvass by motion.
During the meeting Steffensen also advised that an upcoming gubernatorial run-off will require relocating the De Smet polling place because Achievement Days conflicts with the usual location; she will contact the Event Center to arrange a new location. The Board also conducted post-election audit selections: Badger Precinct was drawn, the statewide race to be audited is Governor and an additional race is U.S. Senator. The audit is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 9:00 A.M.
