Rowlett awards $7.57 million contract to rebuild Taller Business Park roads and utilities

City engineering staff recommended awarding the Taller Business Park Phase 1 and Phase 2 reconstruction contract to DDM Construction Corporation for a base bid of $6,882,081 plus a 10% contingency ($688,208.10), for a total not to exceed $7,570,289.10. The project includes 3,500 linear feet of concrete roadway, 1,100 linear feet of sidewalk, stormwater and utility replacements, and culvert upsizing.
Council approved the contract and asked staff to include signage noting the project is funded by voter-approved GO bond propositions and revenue bonds. Staff said the project currently has approximately $7.8 million allocated and that completion is anticipated by the end of next year.
