Board approves June claims of nearly $14 million and authorizes interfund loan for health department

Commissioner Leonard presented six grouped resolutions including approval of June 2026 claims in the amount of $13,995,183.64; a suggested revision to the county travel policy to prioritize the least-expensive available travel; a $157.47 personal expense reimbursement; authorization to fund $29,000 in workforce development program expenses from the general fund; and an interfund loan not to exceed $500,000 to cover health-department program expenses when reimbursements are delayed. Leonard said he would "do all of these at once," and the board moved and approved the package on roll call.
One resolution in the package authorized an interfund loan for the health department to address timing issues when grant reimbursements are delayed; the loan cap is $500,000 and is intended as a temporary cash-flow measure rather than a permanent funding shift. The curbside refuse and recycling contract extension for the Mill Creek SSA included no county cost.
