Council awards $158,940 contract to replace McMillan Park pool decking

An ordinance awarding a service agreement to Hamilton Hunter Builders for the McMillan Pool deck replacement passed the council unanimously on July 14.
Dave Wedock, project-administration superintendent for the Parks Department, told the council the project would replace approximately 300 linear feet of 6-foot-wide pool decking that has experienced surface cracking and pitting. "This ordinance provides for the replacement of approximately 300 linear feet of concrete pool decking at McMillan Park Aquatic Center," he said, describing plans to install new structural steel support over an existing tunnel and pour a new reinforced concrete cool deck. Wedock said the work is intended to happen after the pool season, with contractors aiming for mid-August readiness.
