Several residents used public comment at the Sept. 17 meeting to raise questions about township priorities and transparency. Amy Tighe pressed the Committee on use of redevelopment sites and ownership of the Carneys Point Senior Apartments, asking, "what are you all doing to this community," and noting a lack of open space. Mayor Brown identified the owner as Vitus and explained that under the negotiated PILOT "5% goes to the County, the school gets none and the Township gets the rest."
Amy Secreto asked for earlier access to resolutions, ordinances and the bill list so residents can ask informed questions; Mayor Brown replied that Committee business is carried out on behalf of residents and staff will follow the law regarding public records. She also raised questions about donations from cannabis companies; Mr. Pelura read a state statement that the township cannot direct donations and noted Host Community Agreements provide 2% of sales to the host.
Jerry Holland opposed installation of restrooms at Dunns Park on vandalism grounds and the Committee responded with details about planned security features. The public participation segment recorded both critique and praise—Greg Martin thanked Mrs. Shaw for work at Dunns Park—and closed with no further action taken during the meeting other than recording resident input.
