Assistant Auditor Lisa Markley reviewed the procedural requirements for the initial property tax hearing and said the required countywide mailing had been completed and cost $18,000. Supervisor Linda Murken opened the hearing at 9:12 a.m., read an emailed objection from Dr. Kay Ann Taylor of Ames, and closed the hearing at 9:16 a.m. After brief discussion, Faisal moved and Murken seconded a motion "to proceed with the Proposed Property Tax Levy as published," which the board approved (MCU). The board then adjourned at 9:17 a.m.; the transcript notes Supervisor Lisa Heddens was absent.
