The Carneys Point Township Committee unanimously approved Partial Payment #1 of $100,107.98 to Landberg Construction, LLC for work on Dunns Park as staff said contractors have stepped up efforts to meet an imminent event deadline.
Mrs. Shaw, the committee member overseeing Recreation, said the contractor had been slow earlier but is now working to meet the Sept. 7 Back-to-School Party deadline. "They have been working hard to meet the September 7th deadline," she said. The committee also noted the concession stand painting, restroom repairs and backstop painting underway at the Recreation Complex.
The Committee listed several upcoming events at Dunns Park: a Back-to-School Party on Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a Community Yard Sale on Sept. 13–14 (registration by Sept. 10), Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m., and Christmas in the Park on Dec. 6. The partial payment had been tabled at a prior meeting over progress concerns but was released after the contractor increased activity, the committee said.
The payment was approved by motion of Mrs. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Pelura, and carried unanimously. The township directed staff to continue monitoring progress so the planned public events can proceed on schedule.
