During the Streets & Alleys report, Rodney Smith said the village closed First Street on Saturday to complete storm cleanup and that he plans ditch-digging work and to seek a new tree-trimming contractor.
Rodney said he will meet with homeowners about removing trees before they become hazards on First Street and that the culvert draining from the park is filling and needs to be cleaned out. The board did not take formal action at the April 8 meeting but noted the work will proceed and be coordinated with budget planning for equipment or contractor costs.
Rodney and others who helped with the cleanup were thanked in the Mayor's Report; Rhonda said Rodney and Levi worked about seven hours on road cleanup after the holiday-weekend flood.
