Union City Borough Council voted Oct. 7 to use $39,060.20 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to cover stormwater repairs in Municipal Lot #1 and to close off a catch basin in Hogan’s Alley.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells told council the borough’s ARPA total stands at $194,413 and that $160,000 had previously been designated for the Willow Street Bridge, with $25,000 of that already spent. Wells said the proposed stormwater work would be covered from the remaining ARPA balance. Councilor Joyce made the motion to allocate the $39,060.20 and Councilor Steadman seconded; the motion carried.
