The Borough of Union City has scheduled a public hearing for Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the First Global Methodist Church, 42 East High Street, to solicit public comment on a proposed amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 1118. The posted notice says the measure would provide definitions and regulate permitted-use zones for "redemption games," also described in the notice as "games of skill," and would add a new Section 701.04 to allow the use of accessory structures on adjoining lots.
According to the hearing notice, the amendment would also include a repeal provision, a severability clause and an effective date. "The purpose of the hearing is to provide information and receive public comment on the proposed amendment to Zoning Ordinance #1118," the notice states. The hearing is presented as an opportunity for residents and other stakeholders to offer input before any formal legislative action by the borough.
