Council approves retroactive easement for catch basin at 104 East High Street

Council approved a retroactive easement related to catch-basin work at 104 East High Street. PennDOT is installing a catch basin; the Borough will install an adjacent catch basin and the property owner, Anthony Hickey, will dig a ditch and install a pipe between the PennDOT basin and the Borough basin. The Borough agreed to accept responsibility for the two catch basins and approximately 60 feet of pipe between them. Solicitor Tim Wachter will prepare the easement agreement.
The motion authorizing the easement was made by Councilor Osborn and seconded by Councilor Kerns and carried unanimously. The minutes note the property owner will take responsibility for the ditch connecting the systems.
