Board adopts updated handbooks and approves NEOLA cell-phone policy second reading

Assistant Superintendent Monica Kegerreis told the board the elementary updates include revised attendance policy language, a plan to offer free breakfast to all students for 2026–27, a Wireless Device/Cell Phone policy and updated Network and Internet Acceptable Use expectations.
Separately, the board approved the second reading of NEOLA Board Policy 5136.01, a policy related to personal communication devices. The two handbook approvals and the policy reading were presented by district administrators and passed by unanimous vote. The meeting minutes record that the elementary handbook had been approved in May, but these updates were added after that meeting to reflect district-level policies.
