Engineer reports lift station operational, updates Riverside Park and lead service line inventory

City Engineer Kent Louwagie told the council the new main lift station is now running and the old lift station has been removed; scheduling for demolition of the treatment plant building is undetermined but may occur in December or January. He said the Water Treatment Plant generator awaits a transfer switch scheduled for delivery later this year and that controls integration and final seeding will follow.
Louwagie reported work at Riverside Park is being prioritized under an existing LCCMR grant; staff met with Reta Dahlen to scope remaining tasks and determined reconnecting a silted drainage channel to the river would require substantial permitting. The engineer also reported progress on the Bolton & Menk lead service line inventory: of 1,162 total service lines, utility-side unknowns are down to 742 and customer-side unknowns are 317, with more than 800 lines verified to date.
