CEDA presents student-opportunity findings; district to schedule ACE survey in 2025

Jessica Pellinen of CEDA presented the results of brainstorming sessions with students and staff on ways to expand opportunities for Floodwood Public School District students. The board reviewed existing partnerships with community organizations and neighboring districts and agreed Pellinen will forward her written findings to the district when the document is available.
Principal Amanda Fjeld said the district will repeat the Minnesota Student Survey (last run in 2022) and will ensure the Minnesota ACE (adverse childhood experiences) survey is scheduled for 2025; the board also asked staff to look into training opportunities for staff tied to the ACE results. The board indicated interest in exploring formalized partnerships for sports, mentoring/homework help with local churches, and after-school programming as part of a broader action plan.
