RVAMAC members discussed ongoing problems in the community with uncontained and abandoned dogs, incidents of dogs killing other dogs and nuisance and safety concerns. The minutes record that Animal Control is not under the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office and that members should consider inviting Amy Campbell of Animal Care to attend a meeting to explain enforcement options and resources; an email contact (Campbell.a@mendocinocounty.gov) was provided in the minutes.
The item was recorded as a standing concern to pursue with county Animal Care so officials can explain jurisdictional responsibilities and potential responses. No formal action or motion was taken at the May 7 meeting.
