The Covelo Fire Hydrant project remains on the RVAMAC agenda as an ongoing effort. Minutes record that, if appropriate, Lew Chichester would give a brief report on the town fire hydrant project and request an official letter of support from RVAMAC to be used for grant applications to USDA, Mendocino Community Foundation and other potential funders for planning and initial engineering work and LAFCo review. The item was noted as a work in progress while awaiting word on Lew's grant proposal.
The project entry notes potential next steps including planning, initial engineering, LAFCo review and, if necessary, a parcel-tax ballot measure to fund construction beyond planning. RVAMAC took no formal action at the May 7 meeting.
