Sevier County committee votes to have Mayor’s Office consult land attorney on Red Bank Road Project

Commissioner Jack Parton moved that the Mayor’s Office consult with a land attorney on legal, planning, and zoning issues to work alongside the County’s Planning and Zoning Department; Commissioner Tommy Watts seconded the motion and the Committee approved it unanimously.
The motion followed an initial proposal by Commissioner Tommy Watts that the Mayor’s Office hire a land attorney to take legal action and provide resources against the Red Bank Road Project; Commissioner Aaron Foster seconded that earlier motion but it was withdrawn after Commissioner Parton offered the consultative alternative. Commissioner Bryan Delius presented letters from the City of Sevierville about the Red Bank Road Project and Mayor Larry Waters and Vice Mayor Bryan McCarter said they had discussed the project with Sevierville leadership. Commissioner Mike Hillard added that the Sevier County Planning Commission is ready to consider zoning updates.
