County plans stakeholder meeting on "low intensity" camping use type; Planning staff to present in June

County Planning & Building is developing a Low Intensity Camping Ordinance and asked to organize a community stakeholder meeting similar to the recent Short Term Rentals meeting in Covelo. The minutes state that the proposed new use type, "Transient Habitation: Low Intensity Camping," would allow a limited number of short-term commercial campsites (up to nine units) on properties within the county's inland areas. Planning staff requested placement on the RVAMAC June agenda to present the proposal.
RVAMAC did not take action at the May 7 meeting but members were informed about the county's timeline and the potential to submit comments to Planning and Building. The item was recorded to ensure local stakeholders are aware and have an opportunity to participate in the stakeholder process.
