Jan Malinaro addressed council about a proposal to convert the former Moose Lodge into an event center or nightclub. He said such a use could introduce late-night events and alcohol into a residential area and urged council to examine municipal noise-control provisions. "If there's a liquor license application... you will now have a business literally in a neighborhood serving alcohol to the general public," he said.
Malinaro referenced previous complaints at a comparable venue (the VFW) and suggested council consult Chapter 8 of the municipal code (noise control). He said police reports could be reviewed if council desires and warned he would return with concerns if permitting moves forward.
