Regional water board refers Mountain Valley Company UST site to EAR Fund after stalled cleanup

The California North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board filed a staff memo dated April 29, 2025, noting an open underground storage tank (UST) case at the Mountain Valley Company lot south of the Old Post Office on Highway 162. The minutes of the Round Valley Area MAC meeting on May 7 record that "no cleanup work has been performed since last August" and that the site has been referred to the Emergency, Abandoned, and Recalcitrant (EAR) Fund with a Delegation Authority submitted to MyLinh Dunn on February 6, 2025.
Meeting materials identify the property owner as Craig Christensen and note he "has indicated that he would like to sell the property but that has not taken place to date." The materials attached to the agenda include the staff memo and an EAR fact sheet. RVAMAC members did not take action at the May 7 meeting; the materials were provided as information to the community and to invite further engagement with county and regional water-board processes.
