Applicant says proposed snow-storage location will not discharge into wetlands

Staff recommended the project revise the snow-storage area so it is located outside the wetland buffer, away from the stormwater treatment area, and not adjacent to the existing stream. Marissa explained the snow-storage was placed where plant staff can functionally push snow back from the driveway and that existing grading routes runoff toward the drive and into the new stormwater collection system rather than discharging to the wetland.

A staff reviewer noted the LDR standard requires snow storage be located to minimize the potential for erosion and contaminated runoff into adjacent surface waters and concluded that the applicant's materials indicate wetland impacts are reduced compared with existing conditions. The board affirmed they could accept the applicant's explanation but requested clarified grading plans and supporting documentation in the revised materials to confirm compliance.
