The Hill City Public School District board accepted a package of community gifts Jan. 27. The largest donation recorded was $10,000 from the Hill City Lions Club earmarked for the Fitness Center and wrestling; other donations from the Hill City Thrift Shop and the Lions Club totaled several thousand dollars for SWARM, prom, Home Ec, art and yearbook programs.
The resolution accepting gifts lists specific amounts: Hill City Thrift Shop $600 to SWARM and $2,000 to SWARM and Prom (two entries), Lions Club $10,000 to Fitness Center and Wrestling, Lions Club $500 to Home Ec and Art, and Lions Club $200 to Yearbook. The board introduced and approved the resolution on a motion by Jeremy Nelson, seconded by Joell Miranda; roll call vote was unanimous among members present (5-0, 1 absent).
Board members thanked donors in the recognitions section of the agenda and recorded the items as accepted into district funds.
