At its May 28 meeting the Odessa School Board approved the first reading of Policy/Procedure #6216, which increases the daily meal expense allowance for district travel from $50 to $65 per day. The change was advanced on a first-reading motion that carried 5-0.
The minutes state: "Action: Janie Steward moved and Sheena Starkel seconded a motion to approve the first reading of Policy and Procedure #6216 Lodging, Meals and Other Expenses which will increase meal expenses from $50 per day to $65 per day as recommended by Superintendent Fisk. Motion carried. 5 - 0." The board took no final action on the policy at this meeting; the item was recorded as a first reading and will return for a subsequent vote if required by district procedure.
