Stony Creek Joint Unified trustees approve transportation plan and Second Interim financial report; county repayment estimated at $6 million

The Stony Creek Joint Unified School District Board of Education on March 31 unanimously approved a transportation reimbursement plan and the district's Second Interim Financial Report for FY 2024–25.
Trustee Diana Corkill made the motion to accept the transportation plan, which Trustee Delana Martin seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous vote. Later in the meeting Trustee Krystal Craven moved to approve the Second Interim Financial Report, seconded by Trustee Diana Corkill, and that motion also passed unanimously.
Chief Business Officer Dusty Thompson presented a comparison of actuals from Oct. 31 to Jan. 31 and told trustees the district received $103,000 from the Golden State Pathways grant and has seen an increased fund balance driven partly by higher interest earnings. Trustees were also briefed that the County of Glenn requires repayment of property taxes based on prior projections; according to the presentation total repayment is expected to be approximately $6 million and the state will cover any shortfall, which the presentation said would keep the district financially stable.
Board action on the transportation plan does not change spending authority; trustees directed continued monitoring of the transportation reimbursement plan and district fund balances. The board adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
