MSD of New Durham Township board approves personnel moves, solar contract and 2025-26 calendar

The MSD of New Durham Township School Board met Dec. 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the district media center and carried a series of motions that finalized personnel changes, accepted donations and advanced the district’s solar installations. The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
Board President Mark Parkman presided. Actions recorded in the minutes include approval of the Nov. 13, 2024 minutes; acceptance of donations totaling $3,468; approval of the 2025–26 academic calendars; and adoption of a resolution to close the 2024 accounting year. The minutes repeatedly record that each motion "carried" but do not include roll-call vote tallies.
Superintendent Brian Ton provided the monthly solar update and handed board members the report. The board approved a contract with Energy Harness to cover two gym spaces plus elementary and secondary classroom installations after gyms were added to the contract at the meeting. The minutes record a near-term maintenance item: "Next Wednesday #2 invertor swap. No charge." attributed to the superintendent.
The minutes also record multiple personnel approvals and a set of policy and compensation approvals (classified employee handbook, non-teaching staff compensation, leave-day transfers and increases, teacher appreciation stipends, and an instructional assistant wage correction). The board approved the Return to Learn plan and the district financials before adjourning. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Media Center.
