Odessa School Board adopts $5.69 million general fund budget for 2025–26

The Odessa School District Board of Directors adopted its 2025–2026 budget at a July 23 meeting following a public hearing. Chairman Chris Crossley opened the hearing at 6:00 p.m., and Superintendent Steve Fisk presented the proposed budget. "Hearing no input or questions from the audience, Chairman Crossley closed the budget hearing at 6:22 pm and declared the regular meeting open," the minutes state.
The board approved Budget Resolution #6-2024-2025 (motion by Janie Steward, seconded by Sheena Starkel), which sets final appropriation levels including a General Fund of $5,690,701; Capital Projects $690,952; Associated Student Body $206,600; and Transportation Vehicle Fund $645,044. The resolution authorizes the superintendent to apply for state and federal programs listed in the resolution (IDEA Part B, IDEA Preschool, Title I, Title II, LAP, TPEP, High Capable, among others). The motion carried 5-0.
