County extends fuel contract with Keystone through 2026, plans rebid in November

Deandre (speaker 8) from the highway department told commissioners the department received only one bidder in the prior cycle and asked that the fuel bid be reopened for six months. Commissioners discussed pricing options including firm-price and fluctuating base-price models. Deandre said current pricing shows about a one-dollar change since 2025.
The board approved accepting the Keystone Cooperative Energy contract extension with amended pricing through the end of 2026 and agreed to re-initiate the bid process in late November to take effect in January. "So we're gonna re rebid it now for the following 6 months... That'll get us to the end of the year, and then we'll be able to start the process over," Deandre said. Motion to accept the Keystone extension passed by voice vote.
