The Nevis Public School District board approved a broad consent agenda at its Oct. 27 meeting that included donations, personnel items, policy reviews and inter-district agreements. Donations totaling $3,850 were accepted (Andrew Thigpen $3,000 for Art and Music; Spangler and De Stefano $750 for the Book Club; Michael O’Rourke Memorial $100 for Softball). The minutes list winter coaching and advisor assignments for athletic and extracurricular programs and the annual review of policies 413, 506, 514 and 722.
The consent agenda also included a resolution with the Minnesota State High School League supporting the district’s application for a Form A grant to offset student activity fees, a work agreement with kitchen staff member Jim Hamilton effective Oct. 3, 2025, and a contract with Joni Demarucut for a 1.8 FTE special education teacher. The board voted to dissolve the prior wrestling co-op agreement with W‑H‑A and Nevis and approved a revised agreement to include W‑HA, Nevis and Laporte. The board recorded the motion as carried unanimously.
