The Minneapolis Board of Education on Aug. 16, 2024, unanimously approved Resolution 2024-0043 to canvass the votes from the Aug. 13, 2024 primary election for the nomination to the School Board Member At-Large position. Director Abdul Abdi moved the resolution; the motion was adopted by a voice vote with six ayes and no noes or abstentions.
The vote record listed Abdi, Sharon El-Amin, Adriana Cerrillo, Lori Norvell, Ira Jourdain and Chair Collin Beachy as voting in favor. The special meeting was convened at 5:00 p.m. in room S1-435 at the John B. Davis Educational Services Center and adjourned at 5:07 p.m. Minutes were submitted by Ryan Strack, Assistant to the Superintendent and Board, and later approved on Sept. 10, 2024.
