Board approves consent agenda including hires, construction change orders and student trips

The Litchfield Public Schools Board unanimously approved its consent agenda at the Sept. 9 meeting. The motion (moved by Darrin Anderson and seconded by Michelle Falling) carried 5-0 and bundled prior meeting minutes, board bills/bank transfers, construction change orders from Voss Plumbing and Craig Bardson Excavating, certified staff listings for 2024–25, overnight trip requests and multiple personnel matters.
Personnel approvals recorded in the minutes include Steve Koivisto as Boys JV Hockey coach beginning Nov. 11 at a salary of $5,328.00 (to replace Nick Besemer); Ricky Grant as Custodian I at the Middle School at $19.65/hr plus $1.00/hr night differential; Terry Stenberg as a Lunchroom Supervisor at Lake Ripley at $18.08/hr for 3.5 hours/day; Catherine Wimmer as a Special Education Para at Lake Ripley at $17.26/hr for 6.25 hours/day; and temporary grounds workers Steven Orzolek and Ryder Gangl at $13.50/hr through approximately Oct. 15. The minutes also record an increase in Doug Krokstrom’s hours from 6.5 to 6.75 per day as a Special Education Para at the Middle School.
The minutes list the Girls Swimming overnight trip to Mesabi on Sept. 27–28, 2024 and an additional overnight hotel stay for the FFA convention as approved items. The consent motion did not record any public objections; the board vote was 5-0.
