County Administrator Kevin Frymire updated the commissioners on volunteer board vacancies and facility work at the Aug. 5 meeting. Frymire said there is one open Halstead-area position on the RSVP Advisory Council, one unfilled seat on the South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD) board, one opening for a Newton or North Newton resident on the Aging Advisory Council, and five openings on the Parks Advisory Board; two current Parks positions have terms expiring but incumbents are eligible for reappointment.
Frymire also said staff is planning a tour of the Pine Street building's second floor for the commissioners once final contractor finishing is completed. Commissioner Becky Reimer asked that the Harvey County Food & Farm Council be asked to present a report on their 10 years of activity; commissioners agreed to request that presentation.
