District advertises Parrish playground bids; modular replacement planned at Thomas

Carbondale Elementary School District No. 95 is moving forward with bids for the Parrish School playground after finalizing a site plan, according to Chief School Business Official Janiece Blake.
Blake said the district has advertised the project, scheduled a pre-bid meeting for May 1 at 3:00 PM, and set the bid opening for May 18 at 2:00 PM. She said bid recommendations will be brought to the May board meeting for possible action and that site work is proposed to begin in June with equipment installation in July. Blake also reported she is finalizing floor-plan information to replace the Thomas School modular and expects details early the following week for board review.
The business office noted that May will be a busier month as staff evaluate the district budget and prepare for an FY26 amended budget if necessary; no fiscal figures for the playground project were presented at the meeting.
