The Osseo board paused regular business to recognize student accomplishments and hear student-representative reports.
Coach Jonah Priddy introduced members of the Park Center Pirates adaptive soccer team and thanked district partners; he told the board the team went undefeated at the state tournament and paid tribute to graduating seniors. "I'm the head coach of this awesome group, the Park Center Pirates," Priddy said, and the board invited the team to receive certificates and a group photo.
Student board representatives Naomi Cooper (Art Center), Christian Vargas (OALC) and Hikma Adam (Osseo Senior High) described participation in the board's policy work sessions and said involving students in 500-series policy reviews gave them new perspective. Cooper said she appreciated seeing policy from both student and district perspectives and emphasized the value of student voice in shaping procedures.
The recognitions and student reports were offered as points of pride before the board moved into the meeting's substantive budget and facilities items.
