Board certifies sufficiency of textbooks and materials after correcting resolution number

As required by Education Code 60119, the Sulphur Springs Union School District certified that every student has sufficient textbooks and instructional materials in the four core areas—English language arts, mathematics, science and history/social science—for the 2025–26 school year.
Assistant Superintendent Julie McBride reported that the district met the statute's requirement within the first eight weeks of school and confirmed that sufficient texts and materials had been provided. The Board initially approved the resolution printed as R-24-52, then rescinded that action after discovering an agenda printing error and amended the item to Resolution R-25-51; both the rescission and the corrected certification passed by 5-0 voice votes.
No public comments were received during the public hearing on the matter. The certification is an annual compliance action; trustees recessed briefly at 7:58 p.m. and reconvened at 8:05 p.m. before proceeding with additional business.
