Board discusses possible ICS referendum for fall 2026; community survey underway

Superintendent Seykora updated the board on planning for a potential ICS referendum to be placed before voters in the fall of 2026. Two new members of the ICS team, Laura Christenson and Mark Cobb, met with staff and students and have been gathering input; the superintendent said the team is aiming to craft a proposal that will be affordable for district residents and meet the district's needs.
Seykora said staff and a community survey were distributed; as of the meeting the community survey had received 274 responses and remained open through Dec. 1. The district is continuing outreach, including meetings with student council and staff, and is developing materials to explain options tied to the district strategic plan (goals in achievement, culture, workforce and operations). No referendum date or formal proposal was adopted at the meeting.
