The Minnewaska Area Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a resolution canvassing the returns of the Nov. 5, 2024 State General Election and declared the top vote-getters elected to four-year terms beginning the first Monday in January 2025.
The resolution, approved by motion of Ogdahl and seconded by T. Reichmann, listed vote totals as follows: Angie Reichmann, 3,417; Justin Zavadil, 3,400; Chad Barsness, 3,195; and Gordon Moeller, 2,897. Clerk Angie Reichmann recorded the action in the minutes and the board's roll call vote was recorded as all present voting aye. "Motion by Ogdahl, seconded by T. Reichmann, to approve the Resolution Canvassing Returns of Votes for School District General Election declaring Candidates... elected to four-year terms beginning the first Monday in January 2025," the minutes state.
Board members present for the canvass were Chairperson Chad Barsness, T. Reichmann, A. Reichmann, Ogdahl and Zavadil; Lagred and Holtberg were absent. The action formally confirms the election results for ISD 2149 and puts the declared candidates on track to begin their terms in January 2025.
