Menahga board certifies proposed 2025 pay 2026 levy at maximum; Truth and Taxation hearing set

On Sept. 22 the Menahga Public School Board moved to certify the Proposed 2025 Payable 2026 tax levy 'at the Maximum.' The motion was made by Andrea Haverinen, seconded by Katie Howard, and carried unanimously. The board said the final levy certification and current-year budget review will occur at the regular December meeting.
Chair Haverinen also set the Truth and Taxation Hearing for Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the HS Media Center; the board clarified the hearing will not be scheduled before 6:00 p.m. and may be part of the regular board meeting. Public notice and budget review procedures should follow state requirements.
