Menahga board approves multiple hires, resignations and FMLA requests

The Menahga Public School Board approved multiple personnel items Sept. 22, including a conditional hire for Assistant Teacher Logan Gerdes (contingent on Minnesota teaching license clearance by Oct. 23, 2025) and the hiring of Dana Kennedy as Business Manager pending a clear background check and a start date on or before Oct. 20, 2025. Motions were moved and seconded by board members and carried unanimously.
The board also accepted resignations from bus driver Bill Hodge (effective Aug. 31, 2025), assistant girls basketball coach Katri Haapala (effective Sept. 16, 2025), and High School Teacher April Hodge (effective Aug. 1, 2025). The meeting approved lane-change and long‑term substitute assignments as recorded in the consent items, and two requests for up to 12 weeks of FMLA starting on or about Feb. 23, 2025 and Sept. 2, 2025.
