Council and staff reviewed completed work on Lift Station 8 and the reopening of a heart valve. Staff also reported that during prior work they discovered an old water-service line under Park Drive (a service to a business) but that the main itself was structurally sound and the disturbed soil had been compacted after repairs.
Staff said the found line was a service line to Little Caesars and not the main transmission line; they described the disturbance as localized and said replacing the main would not be necessary at this time. Council members asked about CWSRF funding eligibility and whether future directional-boring could reduce road impacts if full replacement were required.
