CES95 board accepts resignations, approves hires and retirement notifications

Superintendent Janice Pavelonis highlighted two major resignations and the board recorded formal approvals of personnel actions during the meeting.
The board accepted the resignation of Christopher Rutledge as principal of Carbondale Middle School effective at the end of the 2025–2026 school year, as moved by Major and seconded by McHenry. The board also approved the resignation of Brad Isom, Director of Facilities and Maintenance, effective March 27, 2026; that motion was moved by Oliver and seconded by Field.
Several hires were approved by roll call: Tonya Trexler as an EOC aide at Parrish School retroactive to February 23, 2026; Karissa Lindsey as an LPN nurse at Parrish School retroactive to February 3, 2026; and DeVonte Moore to work in the after-school program at Thomas School retroactive to February 23, 2026. The board also approved special assignments for intramurals and assistant track coaches at Lewis School and Carbondale Middle School.
On retirement matters the board approved retirement notifications for Julia Witges and Lori Opp effective at the end of the 2030–2031 school year and approved a revised retirement notification for Donna Rohlfing to retire effective at the end of the 2025–2026 school year (amending a prior notice). All personnel motions carried by roll call vote with Greer absent where roll calls were recorded.
Faculty Council President Jennifer Burke also asked to be involved in the superintendent search process and to provide staff perspectives on the search survey and criteria.
