Chief School Business Official Janiece Blake told the board that renovations at the Parrish and Carbondale Middle School resource centers are “99% complete,” with interior work finished and staff moving in to finalize pantry and resource setups.
Blake said remaining work is largely signage, which is on order and expected to be installed in the coming weeks. On Parrish playground plans, Blake said the design options are being finalized and will be reviewed by the SLT team before presentation to the building committee. “We are getting closer to finalizing a proposal to be blessed by the SLT team,” she said.
Blake also announced the Parrish parking lot bid timeline: a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 5 and bid opening is set for March 19 at 2 p.m., with a tentative building committee meeting set the evening of March 19 at 5 p.m. The board approved related project motions where required and thanked maintenance staff and volunteers for their work on the renovations.
Next steps identified by staff include installing signage, finalizing playground design for committee review and evaluating bids after the March 19 opening.
