School Board approves meeting agenda and several routine measures, sets Truth in Taxation hearing

The Independent School District 761 School Board approved a series of routine motions and recorded unanimous votes on Aug. 26.
The board approved the meeting agenda (motion by Eric Schuster, second by Jolayne Mohs) and later approved the consent agenda — which included minutes from July 15, 2024; the disbursement report; and the personnel report — by roll call with all present voting in favor. The minutes record the consent motion as carried unanimously.
Separately, the board approved an extended trip request for students to attend the national FFA convention (motion by Mohs, second by Schuster) and approved a Resolution for Acceptance of Gifts (motion by Elizabeth Hedlund, second by Eric Schuster), both carried by affirmative roll calls. The minutes do not list gift donors or amounts in the acceptance segment.
On budget-related items, the board designated Dec. 9, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. as the Truth in Taxation hearing and formal tax levy approval date (motion by Timothy Jensen, second by Jolayne Mohs). The board also approved an increase in the adult breakfast price to $2.40 (motion by Deborah Bandel, second by Timothy Jensen); the minutes record the vote as unanimous.
