At its Jan. 6, 2026 organizational meeting in Maple Grove, the Independent School District 279 School Board elected Tanya Prince as Board Chair. The nomination for chair was made by Thomas Brooks and Prince received roll-call votes from each member; the minutes state, “Tanya Prince was elected Chairperson.”
The board also elected Thomas Brooks as Vice-Chair, Keith Tate as Board Clerk and Sarah Mitchell as Board Treasurer. Each office was nominated with only one candidate and confirmed by roll-call vote. The board recorded all officer elections as unanimous among the six members present: Kelsey Dawson, Erica Foster, Thomas Brooks, Tanya Prince, Keith Tate and Sarah Mitchell. The elections conclude the board’s organizational duties and allow the newly elected officers to assume their formal responsibilities for 2026.
