Assistant Superintendent Julie McBride told trustees that Sulphur Springs Union School District students in grades three through eight participated in the Spring 2025 CAASPP assessments for English Language Arts and Mathematics and that fifth-grade students also completed the state science assessment; some students with disabilities participated in the California Alternate Assessment. She reviewed districtwide and grade-level results and student group performance, and provided year-to-year school comparisons of students meeting or exceeding standards.
McBride said next steps will focus on refining essential standards, implementing the new ELA curriculum, supporting mathematics and science instruction through professional development and targeted assessment analysis, and continuing the district's participation in the California Principals Support Network. Trustees offered feedback based on the results presented.
