Board adopts mobile communication device policy for students

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Joshua Randall presented Board Policy 5131.8, which the district developed after input from parents, teachers, classified staff and administrators and prior Board consideration on June 11. Dr. Randall explained the policy will establish the district’s first official guidelines regarding mobile communication devices for the Sulphur Springs Union School District.
The Board discussed the review process and approved the policy by voice vote 4‑0. "This Policy will establish the first official guidelines for the Sulphur Springs Union School District regarding mobile communication devices," Dr. Randall told the Board. Staff will implement the policy in schools and provide guidance to parents and staff on expectations and enforcement.
