Mrs. Yasmin Sanchez, President of the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC), joined Assistant Superintendent Julie McBride to present DELAC’s end‑of‑year report to the Board. The presentation summarized DELAC’s advisory role on programs and services for English Learners, review of the English Learner Master Plan, updates to the LCAP, parent input, and district strategies to support reclassification and newcomer students. The report highlighted summer intervention programs and provision of iPads, internet access and language development tools for Newcomer students.
Following the DELAC presentation, Director Stephanie Cruz presented the Master Plan for English Language Learners for 2025‑26, which she described as a district guide aligned with the California English Learner Roadmap. "This plan serves as a guide for all educational partners...to ensure that consistent and coherent services are provided to every English Language Learner," Cruz told the Board. The Board approved the Master Plan 4‑0.
